Inversion Flow
Dasha has been passionate about inversions since she was a kid. She just never seemed to grow out of it. She recalls craving to be upside down whether that be hanging her head off the bed, doing cartwheels in the yard, or climbing trees. It is through her life experience that she found a practice in being okay with discomfort and fear. In finding focus when your world seems to be flipped upside down.
In this workshop she teaches us how to align with our fears and the things that make us uncomfortable in order to find a sense of calm amongst the turbulence of life. In this workshop we move through all the foundations of practice to safely transition into an inversion.
Dasha leads us through various different flexibility and strength building practices to cultivate the core and align with our midline in order to find length and strength in inversions. She teaches us the physical benefits of inversions and why it is important to learn how to invert safely.
We use a variety of complimentary practices including yoga, strength work, soft tissue manipulation with tennis balls and from rollers, as well as body work.
Dasha provides a safe space for practitioners of all levels to earn inversions and ask questions.
Yoga and Acupuncture
In this intimate class we will explore the practice of Prana Vinyasa yoga. Bri will lead you through a practice designed to prepare the body to receive acupuncture treatment. In this class we are not focused on fitness, as the class is suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Our focus here is to create a space where seekers are able to come and receive the practice, receive treatment, and find healing.
Students will be left in savasana at which point Bri will come around and feel pulses. There will be no talking through the course of class or treatment, as the pulses reveal which acupuncture points are chosen for treatment, and are different for every individual. She will then administer treatment. As this is a community style acupuncture service she will be cycling around the room, rechecking pulses and making sure all practitioners are tended to and comfortable.
The asana practice will last about 30-40 minutes, followed by 40-50 minutes of meditation and treatment. This allows enough time for Bri to spend adequate time with each patient.
When your treatment is over she will pull the needles and at this point you may stay and rest for additional meditation time or you may leave the practice room.
The hope of this class is to make Chinese medicine accessible. To offer it in a community setting without compromising the quality of care.
